I've noticed that a lot of people on the Fanfiction and Ao3 subreddits are very resistant to tagging anything beyond characters, ships, and applicable archive warnings. They say "well books aren't tagged". Babes, this is not a library, it's an ARCHIVE
my two cents on the whole ao3 tagging debate: people seem to be forgetting that if you tag incorrectly or lack tags, people who are actually looking for the tropes you're writing *will not be able to find them*. you are limiting your audience by tagging wrong out of spite.
