Fata Morgana! That is a fun name. I saw one of these mirages on the Beaufort Sea once, and I thought I was looking at the Wall of Ice in Westeros from Game of Thrones. Floating land, wall of water appear over Chesapeake Bay amid rare mirage

The result is in and SCOTUS has decided to include groundwater in the Clean Water Act! I'm sure most hydrologists are happy to see science and regulation in better harmony. https://t.co/Fa57bSyxOY
This is a big one. What's at issue: The Clean Water Act does not protect groundwater. Many have interpreted this to mean that point-source pollution no longer counts if it passes through groundwater even if it re-appears at the surface later. Now SCOTUS is being asked to clarify.

OSU microbiologists Stephen Atkinson, Jerri Bartholomew & colleagues have made a stunning #discovery @PNASNews. They detected a unique multicellular parasite that lives in salmon tissue and doesn't need oxygen to produce energy. #Microbiology #Parasite

Our snow machine field work this week was fun despite the constant rain. The springs that feed the Deschutes river headwaters were flowing strong. @OSUCEOAS @OSUScience
