The West Ada School District has lost a beloved teacher and coach. I knew Mike McCrady as the Rocky Mountain High School golf coach. He led the Grizzlies to six team titles between the boys and girls. What a devastating loss for the community and especially his family.

I’m at Centennial High today for the Dean Diffin memorial game. Diffin is a former Centennial softball and football coach who died from pancreatic cancer in 2017. His two oldest daughters are the pitcher (Grace) and catcher (Sophia) for the Patriots today.

My dad and his six brothers grew up in San Diego. I took a little adventure while I’m in town for Boise State basketball to find his childhood home. It’s in rough shape, but I was excited anyway. My dad died of cancer in 2001, 12 days after my 22nd birthday.
