Following the gas explosion on London Road in Blackburn yesterday evening, a number of road closures are still in place. Part of London Road around the properties affected Top of Blackburn Street, where it meets London Road Top of Inkerman Street, where it meets London Road

Due to limited resources, the busiest roads are prioritised by the gritting and ploughing teams to ensure they are kept open and safe. There's currently in excess of 350 grit bins across BwD. Find your nearest grit bin through this interactive map https://t.co/Dn4JOawHKb.

Over 3,000 tonnes of rock salt is spread on Blackburn with Darwen’s roads each year. The Borough has over 340 miles of roads, with 165 miles of them gritted as part of the primary and secondary gritting routes. 🚚
