@Butler4GA Thank you Commissioner Butler and Pamela from GDOL for being hands on and providing help to many confused, laid off workers. Despite the rise in claims, you all work with urgency to get things solved.

For self-employed, gig workers and 1099 workers we are working on an easy way for you to file. USDOL is requiring your 2019 tax return and/or we can substitute a 1099 with some self-attesting. Currently working with Georgia Department of revenue for an easy solution for everyone.

Those additional steps include honoring any intercepts that are out there for individuals that owe back taxes and child support. All of that has to be programmed into our system.

For individuals that are currently receiving state unemployment benefits, it looks like we should be able to start putting in the additional $600 at this time next week. Including all back monies owed. The delay was caused by extra steps that USDOL wants us to take........

And this is not a political opinion about this. It's a practical one. Large complicated programs like this usually take months if not years, we're talking less than a month.

This is an unfair article. Some reporters think it's easy to make all this happen, there are a lot of moving parts, a lot of IT design, rules to be written. It would be more helpful if the press would help set expectations. I know something about this... https://t.co/AoO4ifdBhk
