On Monday 10th November we welcomed BGS Alumni Nat Carter to Burnham Grammar School to deliver careers talks to our students about her role at Transport for London. She delivered a presentation to Year 11 and Sixth Form. Thankyou for your fantastic talk for our students!

On Friday 7th November, our Year 9 cohort took part in SEGRO's School Challenge, which was a competition run by SEGRO & Learning to Work in the Slough Trading Estate. The winning team, won a place in the Grand Final and will represent the school in December 2025!

On Thursday 6th November, our Year 7 students took part in our Annual Year 7 Forensics Science Day. They pieced together clues, tested samples and analyzed fingerprints to solve the mystery and reveal the culprit. A fantastic event from our Science Department.

YR 10 STEM Day sponsored by @nationalgriduk & delivered by The Smallpeice Trust. Together in teams they created a device that generates electricity, using a renewable energy source. It encouraged them to embrace challenge, collaborate and solve problems. Students had a great day

2nd stage of the BGS Lonza Junior & Senior Scientist of the Year comp. The standard of all entries was superb. All entrants should be very proud of their contributions. Next round is at Lonza's research labs in November. Students will present to the Lonza scientists. Good luck

Our student-run charity group — INTERACT — held its first-ever tote bag fundraising sale in support of Number 22 Counselling. We raised £87.42 in just one hour! A huge thank you to everyone who supported the cause. Your generosity is making a real difference.

Several lucky students got the chance to visit Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea FC, and its accompanying museum which offered an in depth look at Chelsea's rich legacy and memorable triumphs. It was engaging trip for all levels of football fans and non-fans!

Our students performed in the Annual Spring Concert with an eclectic mix of music, from David Bowie to Studio Ghibli, instrumental performances and ensembles! Beautiful orchestral pieces, amazing harmonies from Pop & Shout Out Choirs, and our Battle of the Bands winners. Amazing!

Y13 students – Jasvin, Hanna & Vedashree, successfully achieved a Gold CREST award for their project: "How does caffeine content vary within drinks and its antimicrobial effects?" They really excelled in experimental design, handling setbacks and clear, structured report writing

Students enjoyed great success at the recent Royal Society of Chemistry Olympiad. Great preparation meant the A level students were awarded bronze, silver & gold awards. A series of demanding questions really tested how students could apply knowledge to unfamiliar situations.

BGS enjoyed a successful ski trip to the USA. It was packed full of excellent progress (beginners attempting black runs!) and fun on the slopes. Students had fun with great ski instructors. Evenings were also packed - trips to the cinema, bowling, arcade, ice rink and the shops!

The Science Department held its annual Science Fair at BGS. Our pupils had a great time. Khushi in Year 9 said; "What a great way to educate people and execute it in a fun way! It was an absolute hit. There was slime-making, titration and seeing your own hair on the big screen!

Some Year 10 students visited Brasenose College, Oxford for a day trip. They were given a talk about UCAS applications, life at Oxbridge compared to other Uni's, a college tour, saw Radcliffe Square, the Bodleian Library Schools Quadrangle and finally University College.
