As you get older it’s easy to talk about the “glory years” but my 4yrs working at Royal Melbourne came close. Richard Forsyth and the current custodians have done an amazing job this week. Great to have an Aust Open back. Living it vicariously from a distance!

Such a fun weekend back at “thee” spiritual home (of New Zealand Golf!). 5 lots of nine hole matchplay and walking around the links had me feeling like a proud father.

Camping on the south coast of New Zealand’s North Island and discovered this painted white stone. Gave off County Down vibes!

And to think the wife questioned my credit card spending earlier this year. Long term investment I call it and a great addition to the annual gathering of the family Christmas Tree Committee! @TheMasters

One of life’s fortunate golfing experiences - the play and stay package at @VicGolfClub and to do it alongside and have it happen because of some great industry mates made it feel even more special.

Little Frankston…as uncomplicated a golfing experience gets. 9 holes of very good golf, byo food and drink, clean the kitchen and tidy the clubhouse on your way out.

Great 24hrs on property at Chevy Chase Club. Met their Director of Agronomy @sbrittonturf 28 years ago on the Groundstaff at Royal Melbourne Golf Club and couldn’t be prouder to stay…and play his course today and see how his career has panned out.

The win by Thomson prevented Nagle winning the Open and PGA on both sides of the Tasman that year.

Paraparaumu Beach’s 1st NZ Open was held in 1959. Needing a birdie to tie at the 72nd, Kel Nagle dramatically chipped in to force a playoff with Peter Thomson. Peter won by 6 shots the next day with a fine 67 - 1 shot off @garyplayer course record at the time.

To mark the 75th anniversary of when a group of golfing enthusiasts met to transact the business to form the Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club, it was an honour to address the membership with a presentation reflecting back on the many chapters of the “Paraparaumu Beach Story”.

We aren’t the largest crew but thanks to my team that added another chapter to @PBGC1 incredible history of fulfilling the founding fathers vision Alex Russell instructions in 1949 “create a course capable of hosting the country’s most significant events” NZ Interprovincials
