Mary recently wrapped up a three-week framing project, working on a deck alongside one of our employment partners, AMAK. It was a physically demanding job — but true to form, Mary showed up with determination, grit, and a willingness to learn.

🎨 Our labour crew has been hard at work at TCHC’s 10 Glen Everest, bringing new life to the common areas, hallways, and staircases. Thanks to strong partnerships like the one we share with Toronto Community Housing, we get to train the next generation of tradespeople.

From uncertainty to stability—Joshua Bernard’s journey shows how Building Up changes lives. After joining LiUNA Local 837, he returned home to support his mom & now works across Ontario as a Precast Concrete Rigger. “Now I can provide for my family & take pride in my work.”

After completing the program, Adam didn’t just find work — he earned a position as a Lead Hand and is now a Site Supervisor in Building Up’s General Labour division. Today, he oversees renovations and energy-saving projects across the GTA, mentoring up and coming trainees.
