Year 2 have been reflecting on how to protect the different habitats around the world & looking at microhabitats closer to home - we’ve been able to explore the areas around our field & hunt for mini beasts! We can’t wait to see what we can find in our gardens over the weekend 🪲

In Reception this week we had a crime scene in the classroom. We were visited by pirates who took all the treasure from our treasure chest!  We had to become detectives and follow the clues to try and work out which pirate had our gold and jewels 🏴‍☠️🦜💎 @TrustVictorious

This week, we had a visit from our local firefighters who taught us about water safety. Some of the things we found out about are water risks, the Float to Live technique, phoning 999 and using a throw line @TrustVictorious Thank you @manchesterfire 🚒👩‍🚒

In Reception we have been talking about growing and the life cycle of a plants. We have planted our own sunflower seeds and discussed what we need to do to help them grow 🌻🌞🌧️

This week as part of our Local Habitats science topic, we looked at some different urban birds and what they like to eat. We are trying encourage more wildlife into our gardens, so have made some crafty bird feeders to put up! 🐦‍⬛🩷

This week, year 1 have explored measuring length and height using cubes and rulers! @TrustVictorious

Last week Hazel class set up a Science experiment to investigate what seeds need to germinate and grow. We are looking forward to finding out if our predictions are correct this week!

In Reception last week the children were reading the story 'Supertato'. The children created their own Supertato models in the playdough and designed masks to become superheroes.
