Yesterday, I was granted the opportunity to play Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series early.
I'm working on a full comprehensive review, but to keep things short for now...
The Klonoa 1 remaster is pretty decent, but it's Klonoa 2 which truly steals the show here, it's just gorgeous.
My review of Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is finished!
This is a full 5,000+ word dissection on how these remasters stack up, at least in my own opinion.
After so many revisions, I'm glad to have this out.
I hope you all enjoy! :)

I believe the commentators from Bandai Namco's Anime Expo stream the other day stated it'll likely drop when midnight hits on July 7th, although I'm not sure that's for absolute certainty.
Still keep an eye on your digital storefront of choice around that time.

Hard mode is essentially a one-hit-kill mode, it pretty much changes the way you approach Klonoa
I very much appreciate its inclusion, should be fun for repeat playthroughs
@Kneevirus
Mostly because its presentation is somewhat held back by using the Wii remake as a base, although I'd still consider it a marginal improvement
That and there's a rather stark difference between how it looks against the genuinely beautiful Klonoa 2 remake

So I think the only think I wasn't sold on from trailers where Lunatea's Veil was concerned was the excessive use of bloom. Is it less distracting in-game?
@wayneisboss
It's not completely gone, a few cutscenes look a bit flatter than they probably should because of it, but a grand majority of the environments utilise another form of lighting to liven up the scene
Even so, some areas benefit from added bloom, the Joliant water slide especially
