I greatly appreciate the dedication in keeping faithful to Door to Phantomile.
The Wii version is being used as a base, but they're making every effort they can to keep it closer to the original, be it OG voices, complete remodelings of all characters, brighter colours, etc.
@BroskiBae
I really hope the game uses the original voice clips. I couldn't stand how the Wii remake changed the script and voices for the characters. Ruined the story for me
@BroskiBae
There are a couple clips from the Wii remake too (like Klonoa's scream at the end). So it makes me wonder if there will be multiple voice options? I REALLY hope the uncompressed PS1 voices aren't just for the trailer.
@BroskiBae
Same. I feared that it was going to be like the wiimake, with Huepow having all the text and Klonoa keeping the "Right !" and "I'm Klonoa from Wind Village"
@BroskiBae
I'm hoping we can see more expressive movement, idle animations and facial animations as the game development progress. I'm a little worried some of the charm of the old might be lost.
@BroskiBae
I'm pretty sure it was a stylistic choice for the trailer. I swear at the end when klonoa screams out huepow the voice sample is higher quality than the rest
@BroskiBae
like people would complain but its not even a problem, if anything its charming like this, it’s hard to say i’d prefer cleaned up versions of these same soundbytes if they were available because really the crunchy compressed versions give the perfect effect for this series/world
@BroskiBae
God damn that art style is so awesome. I have no idea why devs got away from games that look like this. It's so so awesome. Would love a physical art book if they do a special edition of this one.
