As a 1st Gen College Student & 1st Gen American #myHBCUStory isn’t about legacy but rather exposure and opportunity. My HS Guidance Counselor told me I couldn’t go to a 4-year school despite being a student athlete in the Top 20% of my class. I never went back to her.
