Workers were not previously included at first, which led to pushback. Now, with the plans changed, a local ambulance district we spoke to says it is taking an educational approach.

Please explain how #EMS is not a high-risk healthcare worker. In the back of a box transporting the sickest COVID patients in uncontrolled situations.
As outlined in New York's vaccination program, high-risk health care workers, nursing home residents & staff are prioritized first to receive the vaccine, followed by other long-term & congregate care staff & residents & EMS & other health care workers.
