Elevating this because he’s 💯 correct. Make your newscast valuable to your audience. If they want ice cream, they’ll go buy some. They want local NEWS from you. Don’t waste their time.
You can point to streaming and changing viewer habits for the decline of local TV News, but…. Having just watched a weekend morning anchor team spend way too many minutes blandly riffing on their favorite ice cream flavors… I really think much of the blame lies with us.
