PSA:. In high level-high school wrestling, there should NOT be slam calls. Only illegal holds (suplex, trapped arm slam, cutback, etc). Have see too many “slams” in big matches this season. If anything, make it illegal for the bottom guy to granby roll off a mat return.

Super 32: toughest HS tournament. folkstyle or freestyle. No doubt. but they need regulation periods. Can’t be considered the pinnacle of HS wrestling with this 1:30 nonsense. make it a 3-day tournament. Every match 2-2-2. boom.

Junior Duals update:.Team Iowa is 4-0 in Freestyle. 1st place in Pool D. wins over:.Florida.Nebraska.Ohio. win over California in the 1st round of the Gold Pool. tomorrow we will wrestle Ohio 2 in the 2nd round. Then Illinois.

Seeding the biggest tournament of the year is well overdue. 8 seems like the right number. Only other option would be 4 (which IMO would be far worse- since most weights have 5+ legit title/finalist contenders). Criteria = same as the rest of the season. Good job @IHSAA.
