Many thanks to all the parents and carers from across the special schools community who attended last nights Post School Destination Fair at Braidburn School. Thank you also to all the organisations that came along to make this a very successful event.

A group of learners from Leven class visited the Developing the Young Workforce Roadshow at Meadowbank Stadium last week. They got the chance to talk to various post school provider organisations and find out about what opportunities they might have when they leave school.

Don class had a fantastic trip to Five Sisters Zoo. We especially enjoyed seeing the penguins, lions and the brown bear! Have a fantastic Summer, from Don class, Jennifer and the team.

Leven Class Leavers enjoyed their Graduation Ceremony yesterday with their parents, carers , extended family and friends. A lovely way to celebrate the end of their school journey. We wish all our leavers well as they move on to their post school destinations.

Learners in Pink Class have been using bubble wrap and foam stampers to print jungle backdrops for their parrots.

Leven Class had a fantastic time at their leavers Prom Party and disco. What a lovely way to celebrate the end of school with friends and staff 🕺🪩👗🕺🎉

Spey class enjoyed a trip to Saughton Park. We enjoyed using the adapted equipment, walking along the rose gardens and having ice cream. The sun was shining and we had a wonderful time!

We were delighted to host the Grand Opening of our new Innowalk today. Thank you to ‘Friends of Braidburn’ and @woodenspoonscot for all your support with funding this incredible resource.

Leven Class completed their Heritage Hero Holyrood Challenge Award this morning. Learners did sensory archaeology activities and crafts. This has been a fantastic outdoor learning wider achievement experience for our leavers. Well done everyone!

Leven and Don class have been learning how to print on fabric. They have used a range of techniques with Gelli plates and stencils

Leven Class continued their outdoor learning Heritage Hero Award at Holyrood Park today. The young people washed the palace tractor, did a litter pick/ recycling and sat in the Park Ranger’s Land Rover.

In the Art room, Green class have been learning new techniques  and working with new tools to produce these amazing paintings.

We are delighted to see lots of lovely things growing in our new secondary department kitchen garden. Must have been the sunny weekend ☀️ ☀️☀️

Leven Class enjoyed a visit to Holyrood Park as the first part of their Heritage Hero Award with Historic Environment Scotland. The young people looked at bird’s nests, fed the swans and made ‘Snacks for Quacks’.
