On a crowded planet of over 7 billion people, growing to over 9 billion, we need viable land use options that support #wildlife. Wildlife-based tourism is a critical part of the mix in ensuring the survival of wildlife & to #endwildlifecrime For more see https://t.co/cdCfdAZnnK

We are seeing some signs of a turnaround in the fight against illegal #wildlife trade, but the gains are fragile. Success requires new players & for us to fully capture the global momentum of recent years My op-ed with @ZacGoldsmith in @thetimes today https://t.co/XhRfyQScn3

Sad news coming out of Botswana, a haven for #elephants, with dozens of animals killed. Anywhere is vulnerable to organised crime. We've made gains but we are not there yet & must keep up the fight! @BBCWorld https://t.co/FEP4HXGiGO #endwildlifecrime #ElephantsWithoutBorders

Elephant poaching has been stopped in Zakouma in #Chad! 4,000 #elephants killed for #ivory 2002-2010 -- just 24 killed 2010-2018. With the right resources & political will we can end poaching at source & do it over & over again See https://t.co/gQCMun1PD6 #worldelephantday #SDGs

We need to protect #wildlife at its source before it enters illegal trade. Once an animal or plant is taken it is lost to the wild. People can turn around the extinction crisis via well-managed places & by supporting local communities “Garamba: A story of hope and resilience”
