"Surge pricing" is just rebranded price gouging.

Wendy’s will start experimenting with surge pricing in 2025, along the lines of Uber and Lyft. Wendy’s will test “dynamic pricing” on burgers, Frosties, and other menu items, which will cost more during times of increased demand.

Surge pricing is price gouging and it's all basically just extortion: "You want something right now? When other people want it too? That means I can charge you extra."

Gas stations charging $12/gallon after a hurricane and $8 for a bottle of water gonna just start calling it "surge pricing"

“Surge pricing” is a perfect example of how corporations are all operating on a “how badly can we exploit consumers and still get away with it?” business model. And since 2021, they all realized that the limit does not exist.

@BostonJerry Wendy's is vastly overestimating the appeal of it's menu.

@BostonJerry @_Zensation They seem to be missing that the only people eating there are eating there because the prices are (relatively) consistent. If they pull up for lunch and y’all want Five Guys money it’s gonna be a lot more fast food fights.
