Big news: Imperial Borderlands is now out in paperback @CambridgeUP James Robinson (2024 Econ Nobel) calls it "pathbreaking." Empire + institutions + data science—same frontier, softer cover. https://t.co/pe1OCrVPMI

Casually holding one of the documents that made Europe: the 1718 Treaty of Passarowitz. Borders redrawn, empires rebalanced, futures rewritten—on parchment. Archival research for my second book on imperial legacies, state formation, and the making of modern Europe.

Happy that my book - Imperial Borderlands earned an Honorable Mention for the 2024 Davis Center Book Prize! Who knew that Habsburgs and military borders could still capture hearts (and minds)? Many thanks to @ASEEES and @DCRES_Harvard!

When a Nobel Prize winner calls your book 'pathbreaking', it might be worth having a look. Thanks, James Robinson, for the kind words on "Imperial Borderlands!" https://t.co/GuLrtnHxSk

Reflecting on the honor of winning a Nobel Prize, Prof. James A. Robinson said Monday at his home: “It’s a little bit emotional. I’m super happy obviously, but very proud and honored,” Robinson said. “It hasn’t quite sunk in yet.”
