Abid Ali was the best all-rounder Hyderabad ever produced. I learnt a lot from him, especially on close-in fielding. He was mad about fitness and used to work hard. That rubbed off on me. He used to go for runs at the LB Stadium after our practice. He was a shrewd cricketer.
