Bill Bruno was many things to many people; coach, mentor, confidant, leader, friend.
Above all, he was just a great person. We're really going to miss him.

Great article Bob! As a former football player & track athlete under Coach Bruno, his years at Asbury Park were omitted. He coached Freshman at APHS from 1986-1988 & was an assistant Track Coach under Tony Giordano thru spring '89 before taking the Head Football job at Pinelands

Bob, I truly appreciate the article about my dad. Thank you for your thoughtful and kind words. Seeing the reaction to this difficult news has really crystallized the impact my dad had on so many. I am truly humbled and overwhelmed by the outpouring of kindness and well-wishes

Your father was a great man who I was privileged to get to know well over the last 15 years.
I cannot imagine the pain you and your family are feeling, but I do know that all who knew your dad are mourning along with you, as well as celebrating his considerable legacy.

This was a great article and this news hits hard. My kids played sports for Brick Memorial and my conversations with Mr. Bruno were always professional and personal at the same time. He was an asset to NJ high school sports. He will be greatly missed.
