NEW SURGE OR BAD OLD DATA?--Again, The Times reports a decline--41 percent-- in new COVID cases per 100k in NJ. All counties but one--Union--are down. Union is up 86 percent. Worse, transmission climbing--from .48 last week up to .67 this week. On the way back up to above 1.0?

This is a NYTimes graph of new COVID infections per 100k persons in NJ. Notice most of the state shows declining rates. The red area is Union County where new cases are supposedly up81 percent. State won't respond to obvious question; MSM uninterested. Is Union really dangerous?

NEW COVID CASES IN UNION CO NJ increased again, by 81 percent, according to Times, despite drops in every other county. Transmissibility rate increased again. MSM outlets ignore the weird numbers. County says old data added to new--but why? State silent. New surge or bad data?

UNION COUNTY (NJ) OFFICIALS blame counting of older, "historic" cases of COVID for what otherwise seems an inexplicable surge in new cases. I've asked for an explanation from the county and the state. If a mistake, then the Times/Ledger/other media should report accurate data,

UNION COUNTY RESIDENTS ARE FACING A GREATER COVID THREAT than neighboring NJ counties, according to NY Times. But, so far, county and Elizabeth spokespersons won't explain. And New Jersey media--Ledger, News 12 not interested in the story. Why not?

WHY IS UNION THE ONLY NJ COUNTY WITH INCREASING COVID CASES? Times says Union reported 60 cases per 100K while neighbor Essex has only 16. Look at Times grafs. Union is a feverishly red hot spot while surrounding counties are orange and yellow. Why won't The Ledger report this?

Bob Rudolph, veteran Ledger reporter and author of "The Boys from New Jersey," died Oct. 20. I saw not a word in The Ledger. I recall the late, great Chick Harrison, once city ed, telling me: You won't get rich as a reporter, but you'll get a great obit when you die. Guess not.

It’s bad enough public education is one mega super spreader event aimed at unvaccinated children. It’s worse that districts—and especially the state—won’t provide parents (and grandparents) the info they need to make wise decisions.

Glad to see NJ's largest paper report on state's school Covid "monitoring." The state simply doesn't count school cases. As Star-Ledger notes, Toms River had "more than 264 students and 29 teachers test positive" but state lists NO outbreaks in town schools. Huh? Explain please.

Two of my grandchildren were sent home bc 2 (3) other pupils in their class tested Covid positive. From what I've been told and witnessed, distance and other safety rules are ignored. The NJ education dept refuses to explain compliance monitoring, if it monitors it at all.

WHAT'S GOOD FOR BROADWAY...The lights were back on. Shows required mask-wearing, and proof of vaccination or recent testing, or both. The producers protect their investments. What does that say about a public school bureaucracy that doesn't? https://t.co/HJnHrgGbcJ

In 40 yrs of sending children and grandchildren to school, I never feared for their safety. Until now. The jumble of contradictory provisions adopted by hundreds of districts leave ice in my chest. And, no, Connecticut doesn't border NJ, no matter what state ed/health depts say.

CHOOSE YOUR POISON--NJ's choice to kids, suffering in heat or exposure to COVID. No one in Trenton sees the insanity? Guess not. ttps://www.nj.com/coronavirus/2021/09/students-dont-have-to-wear-masks-if-classrooms-are-too-hot-murphy-says-but-warns-districts-dont-play-games.html

Who is @UFT fighting for? 🧐 We still don’t have: - universal weekly Covid testing -quality hepa air filters - a remote option - ability to quarantine if vaxxed teachers are *exposed to covid without exhausting our CAR days -small class sizes

9/11-- What needs to be remembered are those who fought on long after that day, including the Hornung Family of Scotch Plains who wanted only a decent burial for those they lost. Diane, Kurt, and Dana--in Matthew's memory.

9/11--What needs to be remembered is the courage of those who fought for the truth years after--starting with the Jersey Widows--Lorie Van Auken, Patty Casazza, Mindy Kleinberg, Kristen Breitweiser, and Monica Gabrielle. Without them, no 9/11 commission, no legal actions.
