The highs of the conference yesterday and advising people on Twitter this morning have made me a bit reflective - I want to share some stuff I've never put online before, in case it helps others out. In grad school, by any measure of academic success, I was a complete failure.

You need to request a twitter archive for this, which takes a day or so.

I have heard good things about (and am currently trying) BlueArk, which for a small fee (total for my two accounts, $12.50) will process your Twitter Archive onto your bluesky profile, appropriately backdated.

You can see starter packs on people's profile pages (or use your own profile page to start one).3) Don't want to lose your stuff? I've heard there are decent command line utilities but haven't tried them and don't have specific recs, but. .

Especially the latter is not perfect. Search takes a few minutes, it also has to be the active tab in that window, so open it in a new window and let it run. 2) Starter packs - seriously, the best feature. Find cool people and then find the starter packs they post!.

Other switching advice - 1) - On chrome on desktop, lets you find people on Twitter (in a following, follower, or lists page) who it thinks are also on bluesky, based on a handle in the bio, matching username, or matching display name.

If you want and need some help switching - pre-populate your feed with 70+ microscopists and image analysts (and counting). Come say hi over there!

If women gave up every time we got evidence people hate us or don't even consider us people, nothing would ever get done. So take a minute, "honor" the reality of the awful feelings, but then we're back to our regularly scheduled program of building the least-worst world we can.
