January interns of the month! Emma (IPET) who is at Roanoke and Mallory (Practicum) is at Beck. Both much deserved! Great students, interns, and all around great kids!

📝CTE teachers began the 2nd semester with professional development. The day included learning sessions presented by teachers + a few Teaching & Training students, exploring practical strategies for student-centered instruction. Everyone is excited to welcome back students today!

Shoutout to these teaching and training interns from all 3 high schools that gave up one of their last days off to put on a PD for teachers across the district over formative assessments. They did a phenomenal job! @NisdCTE

Wrapping up 2025 with our December interns of the month - Harper and Kenlee! Both mentors talk about the growth in these interns in the way of confidence and comfortability which has fostered strong relationships with the students.

November interns of the month (posted late bc we forgot the pics and what better day to remember than PJ day!). Khloe and Skylar both received emails from their mentors about how much work they put into their internship and students each day!

One of our favorite holiday traditions! Principles of Ed writes letters from elves to kinder @BeckElem and @LakeviewES and the interns get to read them and sing carols. Some old interns were there doing college observation hours. The whole teaching & training pathway is involved!

Our October interns of the month. Arhi is at Beck in kinder and Trinity is at Roanoke in 3rd. Both got glowing emails about dependability, professionalism, building relationships with students, and the great work they’re doing with small groups.

These interns continue to amaze me. I needed them to help run stations for Child Dev to showcase our program & w/o hesitation, they stepped up to talk about their experiences. So many great talking points and engagement-many even giving up their lunch and off periods to come!

All day field trips…where interns get to see a full day at their site campus (and feel “teacher tired” by the end of the day!). So many cute costumes and fun things going on for this beautiful Halloween day!

Our 1st intern of the month goes to Isabella Perez who is on her 2nd year at Medlin in history! Her mentor says “From day one, she jumped right in with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a genuine love for history. She is dependable, thoughtful, and always willing to help”.

Another great year @fwmsh learning about all of the experiential learning opportunities they have to offer and career paths. Always a favorite field trip for our potential future educators! Thank you for hosting all NISD Ed and Training practicum students!

Senior interns were all Texas Mum’ed up today!

NM the clothing as it was PJ day. Practicum students are learning about learner exceptionalities thru literacy (children’s books related to the topic) and empathy stations where they experience what that student may be feeling in a classroom to better help their students.

Site visits today w/ special guest Mr Thomas (BNHS AP), Zoe who is back from Blinn College to do observation hours w/ her old mentors, and Alicia who is starting her 1st year teaching where she interned a few years back. AND saw all the great things @BeckElem teachers are doing!

Principles of Ed is hard at work creating their Contributors to Education Art Museum. Students paint a portrait and record an autobiography of their assigned person noting key contributions and the effect they’ve had on education. Always a fun fav at the beginning of the year!

When the volleyball tournament is during class time so the students lock in to get all things done so they can go support their fellow intern. Great job, Lexi!
