If we’re going to bring back Gustafsson I think I’d much rather just see if Morrow can do it.
Friedman on 32TP says #NYR are looking for a power play QB with Adam Fox out, one name Friedman has heard is Erik Gustafsson who is currently playing in the AHL, he was decent for them in 2023-24 with 6 goals, 31 pts in 76 games.

@JoeFortunatoBSB The *only* Gus trade I'd make is Gus for Parssinen (retaining on Gus to make salaries match). Both guys get a reset and chances with their respective teams to be NHL players again. Both guys can still be kept in AHL, worst case.

@atlanta_ranger @iEricKohn @BlueshirtBanter Under “the spirit of the contract” you could argue that Trouba didn’t live up to his end either. The “spirit” of the contract was for Trouba to be a leader and play well. He did neither.

See, this is the thing about contracts. They tell you the ways you can get out of them. The “spirit” of the contract isn’t a thing the actually, meaningfully exists. It’s unfortunate that COVID screwed up a lot for a lot of people but that’s not Chris Drury’s concern. At all.
@iEricKohn @BlueshirtBanter Though Drury was acting under the terms of the contract it wasn’t until n the spirit of it. The contract was structured in a way that allowed Mrs Trouba to finish her residency. Covid screwed with the time table.
