Millions of laying hens are crammed in cages so small on factory farms that they cannot spread their wings. Some countries have already banned cages for laying hens and the UK must take action. One of our core aims is to end cages for laying hens and stop this suffering

We welcome the Animal Welfare Strategy but note there are several key areas not addressed. Good to see phasing out of cages & farrowing crates,a review on use of high concentration CO2 stunning & of killing pigs and slaughter requirements for farmed fish

We welcome the confirmation that ending cages and pig crates is a key priority in the Animal Welfare Strategy. We have long campaigned for this as well as legal protections for farmed fish at slaughter & a ban on high concentration CO2 stunning & killing of pigs. It’s frustrating

Disappointed that a ban on trophy hunting imports will not be in the Govt’s animal welfare strategy as confirmed by Defra Minister in response to Patron Mark Francois. Mark brought up our much missed late Patron Sir David Amess’ work to end pig farrowing crates & trophy imports
