.@emilyeavis & Melvin Benn, thanks for another great Glastonbury. BUT I hope you're keeping your eye on FB groups and Twitter re the bad programming and overcrowding at several events over the weekend. Lots of folk saying it felt dangerous this year. Please fix this.

Oi @emilyeavis I know this post is ambiguous but MOST of us would understand 'new year' to mean sometimes in the first two months of 2024 😂 My daughters are climbing the walls here. Help me out. 🥴

Hey @Upwork I'm, an editor w/ 25 yrs experience & hundreds of freelance clients. I've pitched for 30 contracts on your site now. Results? One conversation & no work, not a penny. You seem happy to keep charging for credits though. Beginning to think your site is a scam.

TikTok hack:Â TikTok will cut your reach if you try and link off site with an external link or call to action. Instead use your Pinned videos to position offers and then direct your TikTok traffic to those videos.

Creating video content doesn't have to take lots of time. Spending time creating templates at the front end can cut down repetitive tasks and also give you a more consistent brand look.

If you haven't tried Metricool for social scheduling then you should. It's my new favourite thing. I wrote about it in this weeks Content Club newsletter. You can subscribe here and find the Metricool article on the same page. https://t.co/dc1abyXy1g

Facebook have announced a blue tick subscription service just months after Twitter launched theirs. Are we seeing a major shift in social media usage now? It feels like reach and engagement will drop off for anyone that doesn't pay. But will anyone pay? Would you?

Starting to discover the secrets of Twitter. Here's one clue. Studying account analytics via @Metricool and had to double take at the level of @thejustinwelsh 's activity (mostly replies). Perhaps this is why the rest of his stats are so high?

Social schedulers have a bad rep. But that's because most people abuse them. Personally I don't think it's possible to manage your accounts without one. Recently I've been using a amazing tool called Metricool. I wrote about it here:

If you've tried Adobe Premiere and you're overwhelmed with it, try Adobe Rush. It's a simpler more user friendly version designed for content creators and busy professionals.

We know this probably isn't a real story but we're compelled by it because it activates emotions. Not logic. Feelings. Feelings are what make people take action. The trick is to find an honest way to incorporate emotion into our marketing.

We're cross that the poor boy has been mocked, and we want to find out how justice was served. It also uses striking visual imagery to catch our attention. If you think they've coloured his eyes green by accident, they haven't.

But all marketing uses similar tactics, to a degree. So what is it about this that works? Fundamentally this picture is playing to our emotions. There are two key emotions at play here. Sympathy (or possibly anger) and intrigue.
