For a new character, Reina is incredibly fleshed out and complete. It's too early to assess right now just how competitive she is.
Clearly a labor of love for the development team, we can't wait to see what purple lightning is capable of.
Reina Overview:
Chun Li is the undisputed queen of footsies in Third Strike. Her pokes are peerless, and her ability to hit-confirm from them into one of the most busted supers in the game, the Houyoku Sen, is what really defines the character.
📽️
The developers clearly knew Hwoarang would be a menace when heated up and balanced around that as a defining factor.
If the idea of a hyper aggressive, highly dynamic character sounds fun to you, then hitch a ride with Hwoarang.
Ken is a jack of all trades. Stand out features include his burst damage without meter, especially if you can kara shoryuken. With meter he can link super from nearly anything. Overall a strong, flexible character, great for beginners or Masters alike.
📽️
Despite having defined strengths and weaknesses, Steve is still a very versatile character. A swarmer, slugger, out-boxer, and counter-puncher all rolled into one, if you’re a fan of the sweet-science, then glove up with the guv 🥊
Makoto is an explosive character who thrives on momentum. Her walkspeed is slow, but her dash is fast and long. Core to her gameplan is the Karakusa, a terrifying comboing grab that can lead to practical touch of death combos under the right conditions.
📽️
Perfect for beginners and masters alike, merging legacy fundamentals with modern accessibility, Jin encapsulates Tekken. A stable, steady and very strong choice at any level of play.
Jin Kazama Overview & Changes:
Dudley, the gentleman boxer, is most effective when he's right up in your grill, forcing you into brutal 50/50s. Dart Shot is an unreactable overhead that can be confirmed into supers, and he can also pin you down on wake up with his iconic rose 🌹

Once again, fate brings together those who heed the call...
Salami Cup, an online tournament for retro fighting games, kicks off on 29th April with the seminal, landmark classic - Tekken 3.
Invites to competitors will be sent out via e-mail & DM, so be sure to check your inbox!
Yoshimitsu is one of Tekken’s most freeform characters. His toolkit is geared towards lulling the opponent into a false sense of security before catching them off guard. Yoshi's new moves really emphasize his prowess as both a sword master and trickster.
As you'd expect from the poster boy, Ryu is a strong, versatile and balanced character. What sets him apart is his ability to rack up stun. This is even more prominent with Denjin Hadouken, an unblockable set up based super that deals massive stun.
📽️
Akuma boasts both powerful space control and ferocious, ambiguous setplay. What keeps him in check is the lowest defense in the game, meaning that any mistake is severely punished. Akuma is overall great for players who like to live on the razer's edge.
Kazuya and Jin are in some ways exactly the same, in others complete opposites. That’s just family.
Unlike his son Kazuya has very defined strengths and weaknesses. His weak pokes means he lacks stability, but he makes up for it with sheer explosiveness.
On today's Tekken Tip, neutral guard and holding back can create different levels of pushback. This is important to remember when practicing your block punishment.
Yun shares the title of "strongest" along with Chun-Li. Genei-Jin is an insane super that briefly turn Yun into an unstoppable combo machine, and can be used multiple times per round. The only thing that keeps him in check is how hard he is to optimise.
📽️
Urien is a ticking time bomb. First he plays solid, boxing out opponents with his long range pokes. When he gets access to the notorious Aegis Reflector though, the entire dynamic of the match shifts, with Urien turning into an unblockable set up machine.
While Devil Jin's new tools are very powerful, don’t let the devil tempt you, as leaning too heavily into them will get you severely punished.
Playing Devil Jin is going to mean treading a delicate balance between solid fundamentals and going wild.
After being elected the best character by many players, Lidia Sobieska received several changes in Patch 5.0 that made her weaker. Let’s see what changed and how we can better punish the Prime Minister of Poland.
Of the two twins, Yang takes a more fundamentals focused approach than Yun. His defining move is the Tourou Zan, a versatile rekka series that can be used to poke, pressure and end combos. Divekicks, a command grab and dash round off his versatile kit.
📽️
Elena's long limbs naturally suit her to a footsies oriented approach. Depending on her Super Art selection she can be a very flexible character though, and has lot of fun juggle potential.
📽️
Coldly methodical yet brutally savage at the same time, Bryan rewards players that take their time to condition opponents.
If you’re a patient player who wants to play the long game for big damage, then the undead cyborg might just satisfy your hunger.
Something we're very proud of is how global "FTTAWSBFTMA" has become.

In today's Street Strat let's go over Delayed Tech. This can be a powerful option select against strike / throw mix-ups, but is highly susceptible to shimmy.
Keep it in mind though as another defensive option in your toolkit.
Ken is a character you might be seeing occasionally when playing Street Fighter 6.
On today's Street Strat, a quick little tip to help you manage his notorious Jinrai Kicks a bit better.
Ibuki is a trickster who confuses opponents with her blinding speed, ambiguous resets and suffocating blockstrings. Perhaps the biggest knowledge check in the game, those unfamiliar with this kunoichi's big bag of tricks won't even know what hit them.
📽️
Q could be described as a moving wall of nothing. His normals are weak, but he does boast good specials, notably a dash punch, a grab with massive range and a defense boosting taunt. A strange hybrid between zoner and grappler, Q is like nothing else.
📽️
Necro may seem like a mix of Dhalsim and Blanka at first, but he's not. With a style that's completely his own, focusing around space control and corner pressure, Necro is one of the strangest, most interesting and unique characters in Third Strike.
📽️
Introducing Street Strats! Regular bitesize, digestible bits of Street Fighter knowledge to help you improve.
We start off with one of the first major skill checks for Street Fighter 6 players - dealing with Drive Impact.
Oro is a solid, if unremarkable character without meter. When he has access to supers though, his true potential unlocks, with looping, self-sustaining unblockable setups and absurdly damaging juggles. Don't underestimate this old man.
📽️
Remy is a charge zoner similar to Guile, and he also has two different projectile heights like Sagat. Unlike those characters, Remy's weak normals let him down, but if you can master charge partitioning and divekick spacing, he can be a real nuisance.
📽️
As you'd expect from the token grappler, Hugo is big, slow and powerful. What you might not expect is just how much room for expression they've packed into this German giant through his wide and varied toolkit.
📽️
Get ready for the next tournament. Salami Cup kicks off tomorrow at 7PM CET with Tekken 3.
This'll be a 16-player EU online invitational to celebrate the roots of a franchise that means so much to us.
Catch it live over on Twitch:
Sean might not be the worst character in the game next to Twelve, but competitively he's the most redundant. He is very fun though, fills his role as a handicap to a T and can be very troublesome against players unfamiliar with his tricks.
📽️
Twelve is very unconventional and was likely inspired by the Darkstalkers series, having an airdash and even an invisibility taunt. The developers were probably afraid of how such a character would upset balance, so left Twelve's damage pitifully low.
📽️
King meshes really well with the system in Tekken 8. Throws being innately stronger is of course going to favour a grappler. Not only that, the cat man is also absurdly powerful when in heat 😻
The ex...ceptional

This is the first of several guides by

designed to help turn transferrable Tekken techniques into viable Virtua Fighter virtuosity.
Episode 1 is on mix-ups, turtles and movement - Virtua Fighter style.
Watch:
Alex is a different kind of grappler, focusing on racking up stun and cashing out with big backturned combos. A very momentum based character, there's a reason Alex mains in SFV are known for their obnoxious Twitter clips, and it's no different here.
