Nothing feels quite as nice as being recognized in real life for what you’re building.

Building in public is the modern equivalent of “check out my mixtape”.

Always cool to get a chance to be a guest lecturer about what you’re building at a school like Harvard. But how any tips on how to make the most of promoting it after with little X following?

Build fast, test fast. Make a quick prototype (Lovable, Replit, Codapt). Share it with a small group, watch them use it, and take notes. Update quickly and repeat.

Talk to users. Interviews are still the best way to learn how people think and act. Go in with zero ego and listen. If you skip this, you’re basically building blind.

Start with a real problem. The strongest ideas come from your own work or real frustrations you see online (Reddit is gold for this). AI simulations can help you explore early, but nothing replaces talking to real users.

AI makes it easier than ever to build fast. But if you do not deeply understand your users and involve them, you are just guessing. Fast iteration, real problem focus, and strong user engagement are what make products stick. What have you tried? Curious to hear!.

Start building the real version. Take what worked from your prototype, but expect to rewrite and improve. Involve early users throughout. They will feel invested and are more likely to become your first customers.
