I’d be interested to see how Cook’s homes were characterized for her homeowners insurance policies (which are required for mortgaged properties). Insurance premiums are lower for primary residences. Did she commit insurance fraud also?.
Indicating multiple homes as your primary residence on the mortgage application is not in itself a crime. I’ll explain. If you buy home A and mark it as your primary residence and then live there for two years, you can lease out that home and then buy a new home as your new.
