Absolutely. Optimus would just be the Prime Megatron expects him to be. Every interaction between the two would be soulless. Mechanical. It'd pretty much be necessary for them to negotiate the end of the war, but even after that it would be a way to avoid feeling pain.

If/When Megatron finally starts to accept Orion is gone but not lost within Optimus, starts trying to see those things that remind him of Orion… Optimus' mask closes over his face and averts his optics, just like he has done every day since the armistice.

He's possessive of those soft moments he doesn't want from Optimus, but can't help but desire them nonetheless because they're reminders of Orion.

Megatron lashes out everytime he tries to be anything else, so Optimus gives him what he wants… and in the end, Megatron really hates it. Hates hearing Optimus laugh with others, seeing him smile, lean into others space with curiosity and warmth.

He keeps trying, and Optimus keeps staring him down until eventually, during a lull, he finally says in that soft Orion like timbre, "I hate you." It catches Megatron so insanely off-guard that he can't respond.

It's eerie, and Megatron gets more vicious to try and curb his discomfort over the cold that settles over Optimus. Suddenly the room doesn't feel safe, yet Megatron isn’t able to convince himself to leave, he hasn't /won/ this conversation yet.
