I'm very pleased and thankful for two U.S. Supreme Court rulings announced today that allow us to live out and model our faith in the arenas of Catholic schools and in healthcare. I commend the Little Sisters of the Poor for their courage and persistence.

The tragic death of George Floyd has reopened the wound that many are carrying related to race and the criminal justice system. We need to apply the lessons learned from the pandemic about the value of every human life to this situation.

Thank you for joining Bp. Rojas, Bp del Riego and I today at the Mass of Resurrection for those who have departed in the recent weeks of pandemic. Sad that we haven't been able to give proper burial rites but we lifted up the names of these brothers & sisters today in prayer.

Good Morning! If ever there was a time on our liturgical calendar to endure a crisis like this it would be Lent. We do our best to enter this time of reflection and repentance each year, but this year is different. How has your Lenten observance been impacted by COVID-19?

Brothers&Sisters, it is with a heavy heart that I announce my decision today to suspend all public Masses in the Diocese, out of concerns about COVID-19. I do not make a decision like this lightly. We are in a time of testing & we must find a way to continue to feed our people.
