Yesterday felt like a dream. I matched at Johns Hopkins!! and celebrated with all the people who made this happen: my husband, family, coresidents, and mentors. Forever grateful for their love and support. I’m going to be a Surgical Oncologist!

Reading the memoir of a surgeon who trained in the 1960s (in Cleveland!) and this excerpt about Dr. Zollinger and the oral boards made me laugh. It also made me grateful that the standardization of the exam has improved in the last 60 years… and relieved it’s behind me.

Highlight of the weekend was this find from my sister, who likes to scope out estate sales in the DMV area. I’d like to think this fellow Cleveland-trained surgeon would have enjoyed knowing some of their textbooks made it to a new home.

Hard to believe we’ve been in Baltimore 6 months! Loving it here, even if the weather is reminding us of Cleveland this week. ❄️❄️

Always amazed by the resilience and optimism of patients and families that spend holidays in the hospital. Privileged to help care for them, lucky to still get to spend part of the day celebrating with these cuties.

My Dad took me to this game back in 2006. Troy cemented the Heisman, @TBDBITL sank the Titanic, we rushed the field and sang Carmen Ohio with thousands of crazy Buckeye fans. One of the best days ever. #TheGame.
