Creative accounting in five easy steps: Step 1: Promise to balance half the budget. Step 2: Come up with a snappy slogan. Step 3: Re-label spending. Step 4: Promise to cut spending … tomorrow. Step 5: Change the guardrails. Bonus step: Muzzle the watchdog.

Carney’s two-day cabinet meeting in Toronto cost taxpayers $532,000. That’s thousands more than recent cabinet meetings hosted by Trudeau. We need a culture change in Ottawa and that needs to start with the prime minister and ministers respecting taxpayers’ hard-earned money.

Governments paper over a weak economy by taking more of your money and ballooning their bureaucracy. Canadian governments added 950,000 extra employees in 10 years. That's a THIRD of Canada's job growth. We have way too many government bureaucrats in Canada.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is calling on the Manitoba government to rein in spending, cut the sales tax and end bracket creep in Budget 2026. Manitobans need relief and can't afford more debt. Taxpayers can fill out the government's budget survey and make their voice

These arenas are almost ALWAYS a bad deal for taxpayers. Surrey should not be hiding the costs.

BREAKING: Cape Breton police blew $23,000 preparing for a peaceful community protest about Ottawa’s gun grab. Zero incidents. Zero need. All on the taxpayers’ dime. If this is how the rollout starts, imagine the national bill. Read the full story: https://t.co/tZxVAsNvMU

Those 63 healthcare bureaucrats take home big paycheques from taxpayers. Just look at Laurie Leith, the highest paid VP at Fraser Health — she took home $416,000 last year alone. Emergency rooms are closing and British Columbians can’t find GPs. Bureaucrats get rich.

B.C. Politicians and bureaucrats are taking too many trips and wasting too much money when they do. Just take a look at Jeremy Hewitt, B.C.’s assistant deputy minister for climate change. My latest in @KelownaCourier, @pentictonherald and more.

It's good to see Penticton MLA @amboultbee pushing forward legislation to make it easier for British Columbians to recall MLAs. Politicians work for taxpayers and those taxpayers need to be able to fire bad politicians.

Heritage funds are key to helping provinces manage volatile resource revenues. It sets the province up for the long term by saving to earn interest income. It also helps the province resist the urge to splurge on windfalls by capping the amount it can spend.

The government is bad at stuff. More government bureaucracy is not the solution. Too much government bureaucracy is the problem.
