Took a year, and “franchise” may yet be too strong , but there’s no question something is there. A month now of not just good plays, but special plays. And those are different.
This season isn’t about making the playoffs (even though the division is even weaker). It’s not even about winning, really. It’s about one thing: November and December. That’s when you’ll know if you have your franchise QB. 2/4

We did some good work back then. As I recall, he took our original script and rewrote it for the retirement video. And who’d believe Julius Peppers would be ideal for voiceover work? But it does have a soothing tone to it. Almost gentle. Yet he’s a 6-7, 285-lb Hall of Fame DE.

But if plays through, you’ll have an answer either way in November. Just like Cam in ‘11. Just like Herbert in ‘20. You just knew and playoffs didn’t matter. There could be a slow start and another below-500 season. What matters is if there’s momentum behind Young at the end. 4/4

Seems like some truths have been lost in excitement. There are going to be growing pains. The OL right now isn’t what many had assumed, and the weapons still need to be built up. Of course, that could make it harder to judge Bryce Young - or keep him healthy until November. 3/4
