"I sure hope the Governor doesn't want to revisit the playbook that came form the White House recently involving fires and withholding FEMA funds, I don't think that would play out very well here."

Sheriff Villanueva also tells me he found out about the new stay at home orders from Governor Newsom's press conference, and there was no coordination with law enforcement beforehand, which he says is concerning when the Governor is expecting enforcement of his orders.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department tells me they plan to release a statement on enforcement tomorrow, but that for now, we can refer to their previous statement when Newsom announced curfew. That's when OCSD said they wouldn't take part in enforcing it.

NEW: The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department tells me it is not their intent to have deputies respond to complaints about the Governor's health orders. Anyone calling to complain will be referred to an appropriate department to be addressed on a case by case basis
