Nice little storm passed through Windsor tonight. Lucky to capture lightning and a rainbow in one shot. Looking towards Greeley after storm moved through. #COwx

Good morning, friends! ☕️🌧️ For Monochrome Monday, here’s a hauntingly beautiful abandoned homestead, standing since 1909 on the windswept northern Colorado prairie. I wonder what stories it holds. 🖤🩶🤍

Found the eerie remnants of an abandoned cattle and wheat operation near Hereford in northern Colorado. Time and natural decay have taken their toll, but a 2017 tornado left its mark too, as seen in the crushed buildings on the right.

Happy Fencepost Friday, friends! ☀️🌾 Visited our local Soapstone Prairie hoping to capture its bison herd up close. Unfortunately, they had other plans. You can spot them (the black dots) on the distant slope in the upper left.

It’s Moody Monday, and I nearly forgot to share! I was out exploring our local farmlands this evening, and I was captivated by this view of a distant storm over this vibrant alfalfa field. 🌾⛈️

Good morning and happy Monday, friends! ☕️☀️ Found this abandoned homestead in the mountains near Yampa, CO. Early ranches here featured log cabins built by homesteaders who settled the Yampa Valley in the late 19th century. I like the notched corners of the logs.

Happy Saturday, friends! ☕☀️ Gorgeous start to autumn in northern Colorado with warm days, cool nights, and vibrant colors. I had to stop when I saw this horse against the colorful Routt National Forest aspen trees yesterday. 🍂

While exploring the mountain slopes for fall colors, I was also on the lookout for moose. Disappointingly, I didn’t spot any. Naturally, on my way back, I saw them in a residential neighborhood when my camera wasn’t ready and they had passed before I could get a close photo.
