Reported onto #SpawnMap, thank you for continuing this project!
I will run #SpawnMap for 2025, with a few changes. I will NOT be chasing or looking myself for reports of spawn, to see what sample size I get. I will also NOT be submitting reports on behalf of others, including ones I'm tagged in. HERE IT IS, please RT: https://t.co/3RwFf8DxZT

🇫🇷STOP PRESS: Cruising Association welcomes easier check in/out for cruising to France 🇫🇷 From June 1, 2024, a new ‘protocol’ for small boats to enter France from outside the EU allows additional ports/marinas to handle arrivals/departures. Read on 👉 https://t.co/vT6bx0yHP3

🚨 Big win for boaters! After #TheCA's lobbying, Greece now allows non-EU flagged vessels with Union Goods status (EU VAT paid) to get an unlimited Transit Log and skip checking in/out of every port. Non-Union Goods get an 18-month log with current rules 👉 https://t.co/WX5fEB74yF

As per usual I want to make the #spawnmap data as freely accessible for everyone - you guys own this data. A tag / RT would be amazing if you use it. Watch this space for an academic paper coming your way this year.... 2021, 22, 23, 24 = 5,155 observations https://t.co/pEMdNnCYnB

Surely some mistake? Either the weather station is broken, or the weather is broken - no rainfall recorded in the last week - can't remember when we last saw that, September I think... Anyway, it's allowed us to wash & oil the decking:

Two treats from @damyscornwall, a delicious chicken & tarragon pasty on a cold & windy Friday, venison for a slow cooker casserole on Sunday, served with celeriac & potato gratin (with rosemary, chilli, Dijon and a crispy fried onion & panko crumb), Chantenay carrots & cabbage.

I know yesterday was the 29th of February, but can someone please explain how it's March already? 😮 Some kind of flux capacitor malfunction perhaps? 🤣

Strong winds for our RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch saw fewer birds than normal: https://t.co/mF8gkzLxzU - results don't show the others: greenfinches (3), robins (2), blue tits (2), great spotted woodpeckers (2), magpies (2), dunnocks (2), wood pigeons (2), blackcaps (1), wren (1)

We've done it! We've managed Dry January every day this month and, by way of reward & celebration, every evening with dinner we've opened a bottle of wine - I think that's how it works... How righteous are we? 🍻🥂🍺🍷🍾

Calm Before The Carn - we've never seen the atmosphere as clear as it was yesterday. Tomorrow, I suspect the vista will be quite different - your correspondent will not be taking the 15 minute walk to confirm...

We post a lot of photos each year, mainly of piles of gravel, or piles of courgettes, but here are my two favourites from 2023. Happy New Year!

Still scrubs up pretty well - and the concrete slab cleaned up nicely too, in preparation for the first project of 2024...

I've heard it said recently that owning a pair of silver grape scissors is the mark of a true gentleman - so to dispel that myth, below is a photo of my pair, freshly polished, along with some rather splendid cheese from the Isle of Mull - thank you KB.

'tis the season of goodwill to all (wo)men, so I let Ann have some of her Christmas present a couple of days early... 🤣 Actually, as ever, it was a joint effort - I did the haulin', Ann did the shovelin' - which meant I got to drive the EV, but it still took quite some effort.

Remembering the eight extremely brave, fearless & selfless @RNLI lifeboatmen, all sons of Mousehole, who made the ultimate sacrifice on 19 December 1981. Their courage, dedication, determination, valour & heroism serves as a beacon to us all 💙 #ServiceNotSelf
