I watched that interview with Kinga Surma. 🙄 A few things…. She said “there’s nothing to do” A park doesn’t need to have lots of things to do. People walk or cycle there. Have picnics. Enjoy nature. Kids play. Use their imaginations. Read a book under a tree 1/ #ONpoli

She said they will “have stores that are beautifully placed “ so people can sit and dip their feet in the water You know what’s beautiful? Rocks that are naturally pushed on to beaches by the waves, not carefully placed curated stones that make the space inaccessible #ONpoli

@Beth_Levy66 For these Cons, it only counts as "something to do" if it involves a motor and/or a profitable monetary transaction.

@HamishBuchanan1 It’s just so frustrating. They need to monetize everything.

@Beth_Levy66 I do think that some refurbishment is possible - trillium park is beautiful now and has programming and is frequently busy. A similar idea saving as many trees as possible for the West Island would be great

@Beth_Levy66 She's out of touch. During the pandemic people found their own way to amuse themselves using parks, bringing their own imaginations and games, and they also became more in touch with nature and the need for it, actually.

@Beth_Levy66 I'm guessing that Kinga thinks if you want to be close to natural surroundings, you should be fortunate enough to just hop in your car and drive to your cottage in Muskoka?

@Beth_Levy66 Kinga must lead a sad life if she doesn't know how to enjoy nature.

@Beth_Levy66 What she really meant by nothing to do, was that there is no profit margin for their donors. No way to scam $$ off of punters and grifters. #

@Beth_Levy66 “Read a book under a tree”? The person being interviewed has no use for things like books… or trees

@Beth_Levy66 I think when she says “there’s nothing to do” she means “there’s nothing to buy, nothing to make profit from.” These conservatives have a very…Ferengi view of the world

@Beth_Levy66 I’m guessing “nothing to do” at a park space means “nothing to spend money on”? Just chilling in a nice green space is *doing enough*!

@Beth_Levy66 That's exactly the point. It's a place to relax. They can't charge people to bike and read and swim though.
