I watched that interview with Kinga Surma. 🙄
A few things….
She said “there’s nothing to do”
A park doesn’t need to have lots of things to do. People walk or cycle there. Have picnics. Enjoy nature. Kids play. Use their imaginations. Read a book under a tree

She said they will “have stores that are beautifully placed “ so people can sit and dip their feet in the water
You know what’s beautiful? Rocks that are naturally pushed on to beaches by the waves, not carefully placed curated stones that make the space inaccessible

I do think that some refurbishment is possible - trillium park is beautiful now and has programming and is frequently busy. A similar idea saving as many trees as possible for the West Island would be great

She's out of touch. During the pandemic people found their own way to amuse themselves using parks, bringing their own imaginations and games, and they also became more in touch with nature and the need for it, actually.

I'm guessing that Kinga thinks if you want to be close to natural surroundings, you should be fortunate enough to just hop in your car and drive to your cottage in Muskoka?

What she really meant by nothing to do, was that there is no profit margin for their donors. No way to scam $$ off of punters and grifters. #

I think when she says “there’s nothing to do” she means “there’s nothing to buy, nothing to make profit from.”
These conservatives have a very…Ferengi view of the world
