So um. why do people think that Sonic in 06 thinks Elise is a "prize" to be won, a "reward" for his efforts?.Do you just. not know who Sonic is?.He doesn't save Elise just to "get the girl"

When a female character falls into the damsel in distress trope and isn't able to fight back or free herself, it doesn't matter what else their character does, their personality, what growth they go through, ect.ppl will ignore it and make their whole character getting kidnapped

There are version of this trope where the damsel has no character, no arc, no story relevance outside of getting kidnapped, does not help the hero or other characters in any way, and just treated as an object, a "prize".Yet somehow Elise is the worst case of this trope?.
