Full credit to Wealdstone last night. It was so refreshing to watch a side who were hell bent on getting the ball into the box from the wings with pace at every opportunity. Unlike Southend, whose best attacking threat was the opposition keeper 🤦🏻♂️⚽️ #southendunited

Sad to hear this as Thommo was a great guy to deal with at Roots Hall as a rookie reporter learning his trade & dished out some brilliant one liners. With the standard of players at his disposal, Thommo’s great escape act at Blues far surpassed Barry Fry’s similar miraculous feat

We should all remember Sid Broomfield as @SUFCRootsHall celebrates 70 years of the ground he built for us. I was so fortunate to spend time with the late, great man, listening to his colourful tales in the groundsman’s shed or at his house. We will never see Sid’s like again 💙
