3/4 David enlisted in the Canadian Army shortly after graduation. He joined the Royal Canadian Regiment and served with the 2nd Battalion, RCR on the NATO mission to Afghanistan. David is buried in Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, NB.

2/4 David Greenslade, a 2004 graduate of Saint John High School, was killed in Afghanistan on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007, along with five of his comrades in arms when their armoured vehicle struck a roadside bomb west of Kandahar.

This morning at 9:00 am, the Poppy Flag was raised to kick-off the Royal Canadian Legion’s Poppy Campaign which officially begins tomorrow, 25 Oct. The symbolic first Poppy was presented to Mayor Donna Reardon by Jean Stevens, Saint John District Commander for the Legion.
