Marcus Freeman on the wildcat: "It's a growing formation. At some point, if we need to throw it out to CJ Carr to throw, we'll try it." Wants to find ways to enhance it.

Marcus Freeman on Karson Hobbs: "It's never easy to have something you want taken away from you. You can blame your coaches or you can blame something else... he's worked his tail off... he wants more and has worked to get more." Says it's delayed gratification.

Marcus Freeman on belief in momentum: "As you look back, you believe in momentum. There's a confidence that helps with momentum. But you can't rely on momentum for results." Says momentum is a real thing.

Marcus Freeman on Leonard Moore's return: "There's so much that he brings to our team... there's a leadership aspect that he brings in his own way. There's a confidence from the coordinator knowing he's out there." Says its great to have him back.

Says moving forward, there will be a decision on one if Burnette can't go.

Marcus Freeman on simulating pressure in kicking situations: "We've been in a kicking battle between Erik Schmidt and Marcelo [Diomede]... our team has to have confidence and our guy has to have confidence." Says they're trying to simulate pressure situations in practice.

Marcus Freeman on the 'selfish' penalties: "I shouldn't say selfish. It's undisciplined. Undisciplined penalties are a lack of focus." Some of the aggressive penalties, he's ok with.

Marcus Freeman on the health of K Noah Burnette: "It's a constant of cause and effect." Wasn't the same injury as at UNC. Says they have to keep figuring it out with a tissue injury. "We gotta find the right formula."

Marcus Freeman on the growth of the OLine: "The adjustments they've been able to make that they didn't see on film are tremendous." Says they did a great job of adapting to different Boise State pressures.

Marcus Freeman on Cooper Flanagan: "He's getting closer." He started getting reps in practice. Wants to get the most value out of him when he's back.

Marcus Freeman on handling redshirt players: "If you're a freshman, we have to do what's best for a young person. We don't want to wait a year for a couple of plays." Says if you have a role on this team, you have to embrace it.

Marcus Freeman on NC State: "Their offense is very efficient. Their running back [Hollywood] Smothers is one of the best backs we'll see all year."

Marcus Freeman is here post-Boise State and pre-NC State. "The film confirmed what i felt. It was a tough, hard-fought victory... we didn't execute on certain plays in both phases." Says they have to clean up the penalties, not the aggressive ones, the undisciplined ones.
