Last New Year's I messaged the YGO divas that I'd made out with a 34 yr old married man, this year I messaged them that I'd made out with a guy with fat muscley tits. The world is beautiful and I am grateful to be living in it.

(To be clear, no one said anything and I know I didn't mean it that way, but I just think it's good to challenge your own output and ideas and ask yourself is it really worth it to make that joke?)

Deleted my Habakiri tweet. While I think satire about Trump's clear censorship of his own presence in the Epstein files is fair game I woke up feeling uncomfortable about having posted anything that could be interpreted to make light of the abuse that took place in any way.

That all said I can't say I envy the position of Pokémon. The scalping situation is awful and it is just a matter of time before that bubble bursts. As with many things it is capitalism and greed that threaten the games we love.

YGO's aggressive reprint policy is so good for players but I see why it doesn't make it attractive for long term investment. The challenge will be to find a way such that, what makes the game good and what makes it profitable aren't in conflict with each other.

Yugioh is so much about being a great game to play that the biggest factor in a card's value is how good it is in game. We didn't like that (understandably) but fundamentally it is what sells sets in YGO. Its the same reason people flock to YCSs for little to no prizing

..."for some of these card games it feels like you have to beg people to come and play with the product they've spent all this money on, but for YGO players if you provide a space they will come."

At it's best, I do firmly believe it is just the best game out there, nothing else compares. You are free to disagree but I remember a conversation with the owner of my LGS who said...

Willing to be wrong about this but the issues surrounding the financial success of YGO products and their ability to hold value feel pretty intrinsically linked to the way a lot of us want to and do enjoy the game. Yugioh isn't designed for collectors.

The new Dark Magician and Blue Eyes cards are so insanely pushed, I can't believe I thought from Phantom Revengers they were gonna try and scale back power creep. Absurd cards.

3-1 with K9 Naturia at locals. Going full K9 combo off a single Molecricket g3 won me my last round, felt like crack

I played K9 Naturia, two archetypes I love. Forgoing Noroi for Molecricket or Camellia as the deck's NS lets you add 2 monster negates to the end board along with a Naturia beast if you open well enough. 7th Tachyon can search either engine & Hydrangea is a searchable/specable 5.

Today I hosted a little IRL tournament with my best friends from locals challenging them to build a "Benji-Ass Deck" a la MasterChef for my birthday.
