It is with a heavy hear that I bring you such sad news.I know that many of you will have heard already that John has died, peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer. He would be overwhelmed by all your wonderful messages,so thank you all.
I’d like to thank each and every one of you who has posted such lovely thoughts and words of support, and for all the love shown for John. It has been overwhelming and it’s a great comfort to know he will never be forgotten.
The saddest news of all today. The death of Archie Lyndhurst, just starting out on his chosen career in acting. My heart aches for Nick and Lucy. They could not have loved him more.
My wonderful husband left us twelve weeks ago today. Please raise a glass to him,and to Buster and Kenny.Gawd bless ‘em all,Sullivan,Roy,Lennard and Roger too.
We gave my lovely man a good send off yesterday,in the pouring rain,so I’m sharing these pics with you,if you don’t mind. The red flash on the wicker is for the lifelong Arsenal fan and the cap was something he wore all the time!
…. John will always be remembered for being Boycie and he leaves a great legacy of work which will continue to bring pleasure and smiles for many years to come. Please respect the privacy of our family and friends at this difficult time…
Would you all raise a glass to John this Christmas? Thanks for all the happiness he’s brought, not only to me but to all fans of OFAH. As our friend
@rob_burt40
says,’one helluva man.’ Let’s see your pictures and share the love!!
My second Christmas without John and I want to thank each and every one of you for staying with me on here.Your kind words and support have been a great comfort and I hope you won’t mind if I carry on sharing my memories of our big adventure together. We had the best time ever.
….and be assured that there will be occasion to celebrate John’s life where everyone will be welcome to come along, hopefully at a theatre in London in the Spring next year.Rather than sending flowers, any donations to John’s chosen animal charities would be much appreciated…..
The time has come.Farewell old house, our home for the past 26 years.I’m leaving today for a different life down in Somerset and it’s all a bit overwhelming.
I first met this man when I did a day’s work on Open All Hours. Then we met again when I did a day’s work on a new sitcom called Only Fools and Horses. That was 37 years ago! We’re both still here so please join me in wishing a very happy birthday to Sir David Jason!
Please everyone join me in wishing the happiest of birthdays to Sir David Jason.80 years old today, he came to my 60th birthday party and charmed the local ladies! They’ve never forgotten it.
Good morning! On this bright and sunny day may I ask you to remember my wonderful man on the four month anniversary of his death.A quarter of a year already! The headstone has been ordered and a bench too, both in place in September.Missing him every day.
I’m busying myself clearing out cupboards.John collected antique boxes and chests and stored stuff in them. So much stuff after 27 years in this house. His old passport and wallet set me back a bit.Had to have a sit down.
I’ll be seeing in the new year with Jools Holland like we always did together.A few drinks and a bop till we dropped with the Rolling Stones.Another year begins without my wonderful man. Thanks to you all for your friendship and support.
Good morning! I’ve just picked these flowers from the garden to take to John;seven months today since he exited stage left. Please, all raise a glass to him.
That’s Gavin and Stacey done,so time for me to wish you a very happy Christmas and good luck in 2020.Maybe this time next year we’ll all be millionaires.
I have left the old house behind and I am bereft, but here I am in Somerset, looking through all your messages of support and words of encouragement. There have been 871k views of my original post and I’m glad that so many people have enjoyed all the garden pics over the years….
Today’s the day! My first ever go at making a documentary goes digital on Amazon,Sky and iTunes. Please would you all do me a big favour and RT to spread the word?
Remembering my dear friend Kenny who died on this day TWENTY years ago,for Gawd’s sake! He was on holiday in Hawaii with his family and he’d said to Sheila,’we’re in Paradise, chum!’ Not a bad place to be.
It’s been a long nine weeks since John died and I have received over a thousand cards and messages in that time.I just want to say thank you to each and every one of you who has sent so much love and respect for a very special man. Please forgive me if I don’t reply to all.
My thanks to Lottie and Arthur for fixing John’s headstone in place. It was two hours hard work as the ground was frozen but I think it looks very smart.Plant some spring bulbs all over and I’ll have followed instructions to the letter!!
Thank you,to every one of you who has stuck with me these last three months.Old friends have been so supportive, others whom we’ve had the good fortune to meet over the years have rallied round, but most of you I’ve never met, & I couldn’t have done without your words of comfort.
Sad day for me.Mortimer has gone. Our loyal friend for twenty years.Laid him to rest in Dukey’s kennel in Elgin’s shed where he used to sit for hours waiting for unsuspecting meeses.
Thank you all so much for your good wishes today on John’s 81st birthday. He wouldn’t have liked being 81 nor happy with the state of the world,so shall we just raise a glass to his memory and send love his way?Cheers!
