Wilt Chamberlain is the most physically gifted ball player ever. No contest. 7"1 without shoes, 7"8 wingspan, 4.6 timed 40 yard, 275-290 during prime, 11.5" huge hands, probably the strongest NBA player of all time, track & field athlete, 40-45 inch vertical, amazing endurance.

There is this myth that Magic Johnson was "old" in 1991. Magic was only 31, finished 2nd in MVP voting. Statically had the 4th best season of his career. Upset the favored 63 win Blazers. Magic also had the 2nd highest scoring playoff run with 21.8 PPG. He was washed though.

People saying Damian Lillard is better than Clyde Drexler is crazy. Drexler led his team to 2 Finals in the tough West. Lillard is only better at scoring & ball handling. Drexler was a way better defender, passer, rebounder for his position, finisher & leader. More clutch too.

Latrell Sprewell could have been an all time great. 2nd most talented SG of the 90s. Averaged 21.2 PPG, 4.9 APG, 4.5 RPG & 1.8 SPG from 1993-98. Elite defender & finisher, good midrange shooter, decent 3pt shooter, explosive & had handles. Unfortunately had off court issues.

MJ at his peak is too big & too fundamentally sound for Ja to handle. MJ would drive by him, post him up & pull up in his face all day. Older MJ has a 40-50 pound advantage & had mastered the fundamentals. Ja isn't a good defender or that good of a shooter to top it all off.

Alonzo Mourning from 2005 to 2007 started 66 games for the Heat. In those games he averaged a crazy 3.5 BPG. Was 35-37 years old during that stretch. An old Alonzo was arguably the best shot blocker in the league in the mid 2000s. Yet MJ haters say he faced plumbers.

▪︎ People claim prime Harden was a better rebounder than prime MJ. Guards today average more RPG because of missed long shots off of 3PT attempts - MJ with the Wizards averaged 5.9 RPG - MJ with the Wizards averaged 7.9 RPG when the opponent attempted 20+ 3PT shots (28 games)

I love how people try and use number of 20+ PPG scorers to "prove" the NBA is way more talented now. By that logic, the NBA was much more talented in 1993 (21 20+ PPG scorers) than in 2013 (11 20+ PPG scorers). People really need to think about the arguments they present.

Grant Hill would be putting up Luka numbers today while being a better defender. It's easier for perimeter players to grab rebounds - Hill 1997-2000 averaged 7.2 RPG - Hill 1997-2000 averaged 8.2 RPG when the opposing team attempted 20+ 3PT shots (33 games)

Gen Z: "Bigmen back then couldn't adapt to the 3pt line today." - Here is Jack Sikma. 1980-1988 he shot 10.3% from 3 on 0.1 attempts per game. However, in his last 3 season from 1989-1991 he shot 35.6% from 3 on 2.4 attempts per game. Evolution is real, but so is adaptation.
