Always love this bookplate that Lockwood Kipling designed for his son Rudyard. That man (RK himself?) reading and smoking in his howdah is delightful. Part of an excellent totally refurbished display in the Exhibition Room at @BatemansNT. Thanks @freddiematthews and Hannah Miles

A soft misty haze at Bateman's 🌫️🍂 Kindly note that the house is only open to visitors on weekends until 15 February. During the week, you can enjoy the garden, tea-room, Park Mill, and shop, which are open daily from 10am to 4pm. 📸 National Trust/Lucy Evans
