I was honored to present this @Rockville411 proclamation naming October 2025 as LGBTQ+ History Month. At a time when LGBTQ+ seem to be under attack - I'm proud to live in Rockville, MD where we defend diversity & inclusion. https://t.co/Yk5BpB8kMe

Long Saturday but good. Drug Takeback event, King Farm Garden lunch, Wootton Cluster Fall Festival, Villages Doggie Halloween Parade and a ride-along with @RockvilleCityPD.

New headline suggestion for @WSJ - “I Should Be Ashamed I Never Knew How Cool Johnny Cash Was…. Because Everyone Else Knew” Fixed it for you…
Compared to Dylan and Springsteen, country-music legend Johnny Cash can seem deeply uncool. It took time for me to appreciate his profound, plainspoken strength, writes Jon Fasman.

As the House Appropriations Committee is touring the area in Western Maryland devastated by flooding, the Trump administration has announced that it is denying the appeal for FEMA funding. Why? Because we are a “blue state” even though the affected area is mostly Republican.

Meals on Wheels called Dearborn PD for a welfare check of a 73yo man who wasn’t answering his door this morning. Dearborn PD was able to make contact with his sister who lives in Lansing and could provide a lock box code if necessary. An elderly woman who lived around the

Memphis, as 23.5-point favorites, loses to an interim coach coaching his 1st game and a QB making his 1st start. No Gameday. No Top 25 ranking. And will have to win out + catch serious breaks to make American Conference title game. Extremely poor job by everyone involved.

No Kings rally today in @Rockville411 at the corner of Redland & MD-355. Near the King Farm neighborhood. Organizers tell me nearly 1500 people turned out. Thanks to @RockvilleCityPD for ensuring everyone’s safety. This is what democracy looks like. #NoKingsDayOct18th

Had a wonderful tour of Sunflower Bakery in @Rockville411 . They provide a pathway for young adults with learning disabilities to employment. And they have tasty food!

For a number of reasons, this is yet another reason you should not mix local police efforts with federal immigration law enforcement.

The Pinneburg Volunteer Fire Department visits the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department. Fun outing at @7LocksBrewing. Honored to speak and welcome them to Rockville on behalf of the City and Mayor and Council. Thanks also to Rockville Sister Cities.

It was my honor to present a @Rockville411 proclamation declaring October 2025 as National Disability Employment Awareness Month. As I've said - disability can happen to anyone at any time. We have made progress in the workplace, but need more. https://t.co/eV5pJ5NrmG

Andrew Friedson (@amfriedson) says, “We can't afford to adopt an ‘us versus them’ dynamic of the renters vs the developers.” Will Jawando said publicly to developers, “Don’t come [to MoCo].” Which approach do you honestly think works better at solving the housing crisis?
Montgomery County's exorbitant rent and housing prices were the topic of the night in a county executive debate between fellow councilmembers and candidates Will Jawando and Andrew Friedson. https://t.co/VOlPxXwLVD

Now here is an idea that makes sense. The state recently passed a law that gives tenants six days between when a landlord gives them an eviction notice & when they can be evicted. Municipalities can extend that to up to 14 days. I don’t see why @Rockville411 can’t extend it.

The @TheKFCA Fall Festival at King Farm in @Rockville411 was an awesome event! Great neighborhood feel and great time for all. I always love talking to residents and seeing the food, beer and fun to be had.

“When elephants fight, only the grass gets trampled.” While not a perfect-fitting description of the shutdown, it encapsulates how many of our neighbors feel currently. For information about how the @Rockville411 is supporting federal workers, visit https://t.co/N35odJWNMy.
