Welcome news that Ireland is to open a new consulate in Melbourne, something Sinn Féin has been pressing government to do for some time. Also good to see announcements of new Embassies in Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Moldova, and new Consulate in Málaga.

Getting the steps in thanks to @Qantas today. Gate 23 for QF767, sent back to lounge, engine fault, plane grounded. Rebooked on QF769 in a back row middle seat, just sent back to lounge from Gate 12, tyre change. Might end up walking to Perth. Travelling for work is ALL glamour!

Emotion is high as we count down to @moneillsf finally becoming First Minister. History is unfolding before our eyes. It’s been a long road, a remarkable story, and when I was catching that #80 bus home from school I didn’t think I was lined up with a future FM. Maith thú!
This is an historic day. It is about the future. It is about working together to deliver for workers and families, and creating new and exciting opportunities that ensure our children and grandchildren can achieve their dreams and ambitions in life. As a First Minister for

It mightn’t have been the best coffee ever made, but it did the trick this morning for the young lad as he headed out to tackle the first of his VCE exams. Very proud of him for all the work he’s put in. Whatever way the exams go, they go. Good luck to all the Year 12s, go well!

Surprised, not in a good way, to read the CSO report on gender pay gaps in Ireland. The highest gap was 24.7% in the financial services and real estate sector. That’s exactly the sectors where many of the most impressive female leaders I’ve met operate. There’s clearly more to do

20 years ago today, “God” was good, and the @TyroneGAALive people gave thanks. An amazing match to fly in to be at, and on the whistle, well, just scenes. I’ve never seen so many happily exhausted Tyrone people in their kits as I saw in Dublin airport at 7am on the Monday!

It wasn’t to be for @TheMatildas tonight but what a ride it’s been, they should be so proud of what they’ve achieved. To be at a friend’s house tonight to watch the game and to see a sofa full of teenage boys roaring support for a team of young women gives us hope for the future.

Love seeing the support from @TyroneGAALive for the travelling Australasian team, building friendships and connections for the future across the miles. The ties that bind through @officialgaa are fantastic. @GFHAAustralasia @young_melbourne @GaelicGamesVic
The Australasia Mens’ team landed at the Tyrone GAA Centre this evening in preparation for the World GAA Games. Míle Buíochas to Mark Conway, Oliver Corr and the Tyrone County Board for making it happen. Wonderful GAA people and what an incredible facility!

Saddened to hear of the passing of Simon Crean. I had the privilege of spending time with him through my work with @IrishChamber alongside @EurAusBiz & Jason Collins. I found him great company, blessed with great wisdom & an unflinching advocate for Australia. He will be missed.
