You're an atheist. I doubt you've done any in-depth study of scripture, theology, or listened to any of the thousands of scholars on this subject. I suspect you have no evangelical friends and that you live in a leftist bubble. Please remove yourself from this conversation until…
The GOP's white evangelical base cares about Israel only insomuch as they believe Israel needs to exist to fulfill apocalyptic prophecy in the Book of Revelations. Like you, they mistakenly equate Israel with Jews. Their "loyalty" is anything but.

Like the scripture talks about its pro. Slavery stance... Or how your daughter can be hoed out for visitors.
Or maybe how the all knowing God didn't have a Commandment against slavery or rape.

@PatriciaHeaton
Maybe we’re atheists because we listed to scholars and studied historical fiction and came to the reasoned and rational conclusion that every religion is a pile of lies. Believe what you want, but bon’t force your beliefs on anyone.
@RedonDont
@PatriciaHeaton
We in no way disagree. Nobody should force their beliefs on others. That's why I despise radical Islam: that is and has always been their goal. And you are certainly entitled to be as skeptical about religion as you like.
But that has nothing to do with Mr Black's libelous…
@Barry4the44th
@PatriciaHeaton
I also have been doing lots of reading on the historicity of The Bible. like who wrote it, when ,where,how did it come together. You sense that you can’t believe any of it the way it was thrown together. people who “wrote” The Gospels” were decades removed from the events.
@MGMusselwhite
@PatriciaHeaton
You are off-topic, as none of that is under discussion. But...
First, the historical presence of Jews in Palestine since ancient times is found in the Torah and the Old Testament, as well as Roman and Greek historians.
Secondly, the Bible was written decades later by 2 eye…
@CaptShitPants_
@PatriciaHeaton
Maybe. So what? Not the point. No one is asking you to believe in anything. I just take issue with people like Mr. Black (or you?) having the effrontery to tell ME what I believe. Or what my motivation may be in any given thing.
@Barry4the44th
@PatriciaHeaton
Same here, Barry. I'm amused when that guy who isn't an atheist but Patricia called him an atheist tells other people what they believe.
@HedbergRules
@PatriciaHeaton
Black's parents were Jewish. He is an atheist.

Hashem didn’t save a third of the Jews on earth from being murdered by Christians. Most Jews today understand that it’s more important to stay together as a community than demand that everyone believes in Hashem. So we have a lot of atheists who are still members of our community
@LainKaplan
@PatriciaHeaton
Which I certainly have no issue with. But that isn't the topic of discussion on this thread.
Jews should stick together. Because God hasn't saved you from your enemies on many occasions. It has taken a Gideon, a David, a Maccabee rising up from among you. Today, Israel is…
@karencsw
@PatriciaHeaton
Not all on the left are atheists by any means. But all “leftists”, which is another term for the far left, are. For the most part. Marxism is a secular religion that brooks no competing ideology or dogma.

I was also raised a Baptist, and have attended evangelical churches all my life. Somehow I've NEVER heard a singe pastor (or any Christian) say what Mr. Black asserts. The only one gaslighting people, if not outright slandering them, is he. And, apparently, you.
